There are some movies worth watching over and over again. Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of them. In fact, almost all of the Indiana Jones movies are worth multiple viewings (except for that last one with Shia LaBeouf, which I just pretend never happened). B&B Main Street Cinema 8 in Hannibal is bringing Dr. Jones back to the big screen during their upcoming Retro Night on Thursday, April 16.

Raiders of the Lost Ark is the movie that introduced the world to Indiana Jones. It was directed by Stephen Spielberg, and was based on an idea George Lucas had that predated Star Wars. Lucas was an executive producer. Of course, Harrison Ford played the role of Indiana Jones, a character he also portrayed in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The franchise was popular enough to also branch into television, with The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles airing for two seasons in the early 90s. Raiders of the Lost Ark was nominated for multiple Academy Awards, including Best Picture in 1982.

If you're not familiar with Main Street Cinema 8's Retro Night, they're a lot of fun. Tickets are only $5, and you'll have your choice of seeing the retro movie at either 4PM or 7PM. I saw Halloween last year during the October Retro Night. They've also shown Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Dirty Dancing, The Wizard of Oz, and several others. The movies selected for Retro Night are usually "iconic," or close to it. If you're looking for a fun way to spend a Thursday evening, Retro Night is a great option.
