The National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) Banquet will celebrate its 25th Anniversary on Saturday, March 8th at the Ambiance in Quincy, Illinois. The doors will open at 5:30, with this year’s event promising to be one of the biggest ever held.

The local NWTF chapter, the Adams County Sharp Spurs has hosted this event since 1989 and fund raising has totaled over $750,000. These proceeds directly benefit local, regional and national outdoor education programs. In addition, the Adams County Sharp Spurs has consistently been ranked as one of the largest fundraisers for The National Wild Turkey Federation in the entire Midwest.

John Beck, who has directed many of the NWTF banquets said “The 25th year celebration is a milestone not only for longevity, but also the for the amount of money raised. This year’s goal is to raise $25,000 in honor of the 25th year of helping the NWTF. A significant portion of the funds raised stays local to support groups such as The Boys and Girl Scouts, high school rifle teams and wildlife conservation and education programs”.

Trevor Beck, this year’s chairperson, added, “The 25th anniversary banquet is planned to be our biggest event ever. We hope to raise over $25,000, plus offer some of the biggest prizes and gifts ever done at a banquet like this.”

In honor of the 25th year, ticket prices have also been reduced. Normal ticket prices for the dinner and event are $45 per person, with this years pricing discounted to only $20. “The local community has really supported the NWTF over the years. This year’s event will celebrate that support with more prizes, more vendors, and a great meal for as many folks as possible.”

Traditional silent and live auction items will be available, plus a wide variety of drawings and raffles. This year’s event event will also showcase many local retailers offering special deals and demonstrations as well.

Trevor Beck is thankful that the area’s sportsmen and retailers continue to make this annual event successful. “The NWTF banquet always draws outstanding support from the local retail community because of their commitment to local charities as well. We really appreciate their support and help.”

Tickets are available at the Farm and Home Supply Quincy location at 4625 Broadway.
