2 Missouri Neighborhoods Are Most Dangerous to Live in the Nation
A new list for 2024 claimed that these 10 neighborhoods are the most dangerous to live in places two Missouri neighborhoods on the list.
MoneyInc. gathered new data and put together a list of the most dangerous neighborhoods in America. Neighborhoods in Los Angeles, Little Rock, San Francisco, Detroit, Houston, New Orleans, Memphis, and Albuquerque made the list. Additionally, two Missouri neighborhoods make the list too.
Missouri Neighborhoods
The Peabody-Darst-Webbe in St. Louis neighborhood is becoming extremely dangerous to live in. According to the research,
- Population: 2,378
- Total Crime Rate: Over 12,000 per 100,000 people
- Violet Crime Rate: 3,500 per 100,000 people
- Property Crime Rate: 9,000 per 100,000 people.
Instances of violent criminal activity are 862% more common in Peabody-Darst-Webbe, and overall crime rates are 440% higher. While crime has recently dropped in the entire city, residents of this area still have a 1 in 8 chance of becoming the victim of a crime.
The other Missouri neighborhood is located in the Kansas City area and it's known as the South Blue Valley area. This area is located between Interstate 70 and the Blue River.

- Total crime rate: 9,900 per 100,000 people
- Violent crime rate: 2,400 per 100,000 people
- Property crime rate: 7,500 per 100,000 people
South Blue Valley has crime rates that are 327% higher than the national average, putting its residents at significant risk. This community has more crimes on property than most of the other neighborhoods on this list, and its violent crime rate is equally concerning.
I have been to St. Louis a lot lately and one of these times my family and I were walking through downtown St. Louis at night and I got an uneasy feeling walking on the sidewalk with no businesses open. Just remember where and where not to go and you should be fine.
