Illinois flag commission

Voting has begun on whether or not the state of Illinois should retire its current flag and adopt a new flag, and which flag should that be.

A day after an extended meeting to move from almost 5000 Illinois state flag design entries to ten finalists, the Illinois Flag Commission has their ten finalists.

Many were under the impression that during (or at the conclusion) of the Illinois Flag Commission meeting today (December 9th), and that the ten finalist flags would be unveiled. That didn’t happen.

Starting next week the Illinois State Flag Commission is accepting submissions for a new state flag design. The commission is looking for ideas and designs from the residents of Illinois.
