One of the Amtrak trains that serves the Tri-State area, The Southwest Chief, was involved in a derailment today west of Ft. Dodge, Kansas shortly after midnight central time.
Mark Wiewel, the President & CEO of the Western Catholic Union, is zeroing in on raising a quarter of a million dollars with his "Bike for Food" fundraising ride. In the previous nine years, Wiewel has raised $203-thousand for food pantries in Quincy, Alton, Hannibal, Palmyra, Canton and Ft. Madison.
The Tri-State Rodeo in Ft. Madison announced their 2015 entertainment lineup over the weekend. Some of the biggest names in country music have appeared at the rodeo over the years, dating all the way back to the late 1940s. This year, Chase Rice ("Ready Set Roll") and Brett Eldredge ("Don't Ya") will take the stage during the rodeo.
The Tri-State Rodeo in Ft. Madison has been hosting the biggest stars in country music for decades. Artists like Blake Shelton, Toby Keith, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley and Reba McEntire have all performed at the rodeo, which has been bringing country acts to the Tri-States since the 1940s!
The 2013 Tri-State Rodeo in Ft. Madison will take place from September 4 - 7. The rodeo always brings with it great entertainment, and this year country music fans will get to see two terrific acts: Little Big Town and Rodney Atkins!
