Family Dollar

The brand's parent company is considering its options.

These aren't the first Missouri Family Dollar stores to close and they almost certainly won't be the last. However, there are now confirmed reports that more Dollar Tree is indeed confirming more Missouri Family Dollar locations.

Well, this was unexpected by many. What began as a purchase of one big bargain retailer by another has resulted in 1,000 Family Dollar stores closing. The question now is if and/or how many Missouri and Illinois locations will be affected.

It seems like every other week another store is closing its doors. From Sears to K-Mart to Radio Shack to JC Penney. And now we can add Family Dollar to the growing list. Now this isn't exactly the stores going out of business. It all goes back to Dollar General's purchase of several Family Dollar locations, and meaning in some markets where there were both a Dollar General and one of the recently
