I was inspired by a story I saw this morning about the efforts from citizens in Dull, Scotland to become a sister city to Boring, Oregon.  I personally think this is a great idea and apparently so do a bunch of Facebook people since there is now a page created for this project.  This brought to mind the fact that we have sister cities to our hometowns and haven't heard from them lately.
