A tiny Missouri airport got a fun surprise late Tuesday night thanks to the always interesting New Madrid Fault.

I've been in and through the St. Louis, Missouri airport many times in my lifetime, but I've fortunately never experienced what everyone in those terminals did on this day 13 years ago when monster tornadoes devasted the St. Louis area including a direct hit on the airport.

I have lost count of how many times I've gone through the airport in St. Louis in my life, but I'm certain it was too many. Did you know there are items you can never pack in checked luggage in a Missouri airport and many things you'd never expect.

If you told me there was one state that you can't fly directly to from Missouri, I would have guessed a half dozen and not gotten it right. I can eliminate my first two guesses for you including Alaska and Hawaii. Nope. It's not either one of those.

It would take a lot for me to love an airport. I've gone through enough in my life, it's almost always a dreaded trip. However, there is a new airport in Kansas City that might just change my mind now that I've been able to see how fancy it is inside.
