Lauren Alaina paid tribute to her grandmother on Dancing With the Stars on Monday (Nov. 4), dancing a jive to the music of her Nana's favorite artist, Elvis Presley.

Alaina and her partner, Gleb Savchenko, performed the jive to "Hound Dog," which Presley turned into a career hit in 1956. The singer called her grandmother "the sassiest woman I ever met."

"And if I can even have a teeny, tiny bit of that, we're gonna nail it," she promised ahead of their performance.

Alaina and Savchnko gave an energetic performance that the judges praised, although they pointed out several mistakes on Alaina's part, including losing her place in the dance at one point. Still, as Bruno Tonioli said, "The King himself would have loved the performance," and Alaina and Savchenko earned a score of 24 out of a possible 30 from the judging panel.

Alaina got emotional during the judging, saying that she hoped to stay in the competition. She revealed last week that she has been dealing with chronic pain during the show.

“I have four hurt ribs," she said after dancing an Argentine tango on the Halloween episode of the show. "... All I have been trying to do is pretend my ribs aren’t broken this whole competition. I fractured the one on the left the first week of the show and I haven’t had these X-rayed, but they don’t feel great.”

Dancing With the Stars airs each Monday at 8PM ET on ABC.
