The Kansas City Chiefs are one of the most popular teams in America and the world right now and one of the most hated. That's due to their success and the success of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Coach Andy Reid, not to mention Taylor Swift's connection to the team. Forget overtaking the Cowboys for the mantle of America's Team; let's go for world domination and rip the heart out of the Bills mafia. And yet, not surprisingly, the Chiefs will have to go through the Bills and their fans if they want that crown.

A sports betting website recently commissioned a survey to determine the popularity of each NFL team outside of the United States. The Chiefs came in third place and were the most searched team in 26 countries. When it comes to South America, however, the Chiefs dominate. They are the most searched-for team in every South American Country. Globally, the only two teams ahead of them are the Buffalo Bills and the Dallas Cowboys.

The American football teams that dominate the world stage are, unsurprisingly, the Dallas Cowboys, followed by the more surprising Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs. Other teams show up. The Broncos, Packers, Dolphins, Patriots, Stealers, and even the Cardinals pop up. Yet they're all small potatoes compared to the big three teams.

As far as the Chiefs go, the team was the most searched-for NFL team in 26 countries. That includes all of the 12 countries in South America, such as Argentina and Brazil. The team also dominated Germany, where they won a home game in 2023. It doesn't end there; some countries where the Chiefs were most popular include African countries like Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.

So what will it take for the Chiefs to overtake their rivals worldwide? Winning. That third Super Bowl in a row, the three-peat the Chiefs are going for. That would go a long way to making many in the States and worldwide forget about the Cowboys. Scratch that; the Cowboys and their Texas swagger will probably always keep them in the mix, no matter how mediocre they are.

That "America's Team" monicker they created in the 70s still pays off, even if the team on the field isn't nearly as good as when Tom Landry coached them. But a Super Bowl three-peat by the Chiefs might go a long way to putting that to rest.

As for the Bills, that'll be harder. If you love the Chiefs, tailgating, gutsy fun football, fans who don't know when to quit, and gritty football with heart, then it's hard not to respect the Bills and what they do. It's also hard to tell the world to stop loving what they do, too. Even though I think we do it a little better in Kansas City.

No, that might take Patrick Mahomes, a third Super Bowl Championship, and another season of Taylor Swift bringing the Swifties along to propel the Chiefs past the Bills and the Cowboys to become the most popular team in the world.

Will it happen? I'm not sure any of us know. We know it might be the Chiefs' hardest year yet. We know our guys in red, led by Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, and Travis Kelce, are going for it and will leave it all out in the field. One thing's for sure: all eyes will be on the Chiefs, and they will put on one hell of a "show" every week. It certainly will be worth watching.
