We don't know who's coming to the Missouri State Fair yet, but many artists are out on the road this summer. Many of them have already booked Missouri concert dates. So here are six must-see shows playing the state this summer in St. Louis and or Kansas City areas.

Luke Combs

Luke Combs has been one of the hottest Country singers for a couple of years now. Check out this review from his Oklahoma site, "Just when you think the hits are done he pulls another one out of his trucker hat. There is a reason why every song he sings goes to number 1... His voice is as good as advertised. Highly recommend that you see Luke in concert on his next tour."

Combs headlines the tour with support from Riley Green, Flatland Cavalry, Brent Cobb, and Lainey Wilson in both Kansas City and St. Louis.

Those superstar artists of the 70s are aging, and you never know the last time they're going to tour. I'm not saying this is it for either of these great artists. Nicks tours a lot as a solo artist, and Joel has been playing ballparks the last few summers. Yet, the unexpected death of Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie underscores the need to see some of these rockers when the opportunity presents itself.

This is Nick's and Joel's first foray into co-headling a tour and it might be the only time you'll get to see these two superstars on one bill.

Taylor Swift

Someone in the music industry left this review on the Ticketmaster site, "She makes everyone in the audience feel important and seen and loved. Her performance skills and vocal ability is so underrated, and her songwriting and ability to convey her stories to us is unequivocally the best in category. Eras sold out in presale for a reason let’s leave it at that."

Since her appearance on the Country music scene 15 years ago, a generation has grown up and matured with the performer. So has her music. You may or may not be disappointed that Ms. Swift went pop, but her latest release, Midnights, is a fantastic pop record that any pop fan can enjoy. Even those who don't like a lot of what hits the pop charts these days.

Guns 'N' Roses

Do you know where you were the first time you heard Guns 'N' Roses? I do. I was sitting at the local community college waiting for one of my friends to get out of class. My buddy had a copy of "Appetite for Destruction", popped it into the cassette deck, and it blew me away.

I was a teen then and the closest I got to see them live was listening to my local radio station's broadcast for their Chicago show after they had destroyed Riverport. When the band for all practical purposes fell apart, my desire to see them waned. With Slash, Duff, and Dizzy Reed all in the group these days it's a concert worth checking out.

Shania Twain

2017 Stagecoach California's Country Music Festival - Day 2
Kevin Winter
loading...

One of the biggest artists in County music and beyond from the 90s. Twain is back on the road after the release of her award-winning Netflix documentary and companion greatest hits album "Not Just A Girl" last year, and her new album "Queen of Me" earlier this month.

You might watch the Ticketmaster site for reviews of this tour when it hits the road. Her residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas generally received good reviews, however, there seemed to be some late starts, some complaints about the show length, and no encores. That said, I'd hope for an arena and shed tour, it'll be a little more buttoned up.

Fans have their choice of seeing her play at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in St. Louis or T-Mobile Arena in Kansas City. Breland is the support act in St. Louis, while Mickey Guyton is the opener in Kansas City.

  • Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - Sunday, June 4, 2023, 7:30 PM CDT
  • T-Mobile Center - Wednesday, July 19, 2023, 7:30 PM CDT

P!nk

If you were a teenager in the early 2000s, there's a good chance P!ink has been part of the soundtrack of your life ever since. As an artist P!ink takes her music and her performance seriously, she doesn't take herself too seriously which makes her someone very easy to be a fan of.

Much like Taylor Swift, fans of her career have watched her mature from a rebellious young woman to a wife and mother, and consummate performer. Her shows are high-energy, and over the years her music has developed a wonderful honesty that many fans can relate to.

Check out this review, "Pink is truly the most amazing, daring, talented musician I have ever seen! The first time I saw her I wasn't a huge fan just an average fan. After that show in Cleveland, OH, I've never looked back! She is the true definition of be true to yourself and see how you shine!"

This show technically isn't a summer show, but a fall event, but it's definitely a show you don't want to miss.
