There are multiple reports that a freight train derailed near Paris, Missouri late Thursday morning with at least 5 or six train cars involved.

KTVO is one of the news outlets reporting that a Norfolk Western freight train derailed at approximately 11am Thursday morning. They say that Justin Dunn, a sergeant with the Missouri Highway Patrol confirmed that a train heading west hit a semi causing at least 5 or 6 train cars to derail.

There were reportedly no passengers on the train and at this time there are no reports of any injuries to the crew on the train or the driver of the semi that was struck.

The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced that Missouri Route 15 will be closed the rest of Thursday and overnight into Friday as they investigate the train/semi collision.

As this is a developing news story, new details will be added as they are released by the Missouri Highway Patrol and other authorities.
