It's probably just a large black house cat, right? That's what I've been telling myself after I came across a video of some large feline that was spotted in southeastern Missouri. Some believe this could be an elusive large predator.

Before I share my own viewpoint, watch this video shared by Karen Kania on YouTube. Since it's a short, I'm not certain about when this video was captured, but by the title I do know it's near Perryville, Missouri in the southeastern part of the state.

Karen only has 3 subscribers on YouTube so very few people have even seen this video. Of the few comments, it seems like everyone is split over whether this is a (rather large) domestic house cat out on the prowl or a black mountain lion/panther. One comment mentioned they've seen mountain lions and black bears in that part of Missouri. Interesting.

I'm no mountain lion expert, but the profile doesn't seem to fit what you'd expect to see in a panther-like cat. They are notorious for having very thick tails which is not visible in this video, so it's hard to tell.
