Two Hermann, Missouri police officers were shot Sunday night and the suspect is still at large. One of the officers sadly lost his life while the other is listed in serious condition.

UPDATE: The Missouri Highway Patrol is now reporting on Twitter the suspect has been taken into custody after a standoff.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Missouri Highway Patrol issued a security alert via mobile phones Sunday night and also posted on Twitter that a suspect is at large who is possibly responsible for the shooting of two Hermann, Missouri police officers. The suspects name is Kenneth Lee Simpson who was last seen driving a black Jeep.

The Missouri Highway Patrol later confirmed that Detective Sergeant Mason Griffith had succumbed to his injuries. The other officer who's name has not been released is listed in serious condition at the hospital. No other details have been released as of this time, but this story will be updated as new information is released by law enforcement.
