Some Missouri Places Just Measured More Than 7 Inches of New Snow
The winter storm system that just moved through Missouri was expected to have mostly minor impacts. If this is minor, I don't want to see what major would be as some places in the state just measured more than 7 inches of new snow just on Friday alone.
I saw this interesting graphic shared today by the National Weather Service in St. Louis, Missouri. It shows the highest snow totals from the winter storm on just Friday, January 10, 2025.
I saw several in southwestern Missouri especially that shared videos showing how much snow accumulated.
The back-to-back snow storms this past week caused many school districts in Missouri to reach their maximum amount of allowed snow days and we're barely a third of the way through January. Many computer models including Farmer's Almanac predicted that it would be late January or early February when the worst of winter would impact Missouri.
Might as well brace yourself as I have no doubt that winter is not done with Missouri - not even close. There are some models that show another potential winter system could drop more snow within the next week. Your snow shovel is your friend.
