Missouri is known for its vast variety of state parks and now there's a new one. The truth is it's really kind of heavenly and I can prove it with science (and some videos and pics).

Bryant Creek State Park is named after the waterway that borders it. It spans nearly 3,000 acres in southern Douglas County, Missouri with thousands of pine and oak trees. Only In Your State recently called it "incredible" and they're not wrong. Lots of hiking trails there, too. Take a look.

According to the Missouri State Parks website, Bryant Creek State Park has only officially been a "state park" since the ribbon cutting in September of 2022. Even before it joined the state park club, that part of Missouri was known for great floating areas and fishing.

Douglas County is south of Mountain Grove, Missouri and southeast of Springfield. It's hard to get much more southern in Missouri without actually entering Arkansas (don't do it - it's a trap).

Before road-tripping to check out Bryant Creek State Park, it's a good idea to check the Missouri state parks status map to make sure that everyone you're interested in is open and in good shape. This new addition to the Missouri state parks lineup looks like a keeper for sure.
