See What Would Happen if Catastrophic 7.7 Earthquake Hit Missouri
I've been told that I shouldn't concern myself about what would happen if the New Madrid Fault in Missouri finally lets go with the dreaded major quake seismologists say is inevitable because there's nothing we can do to stop it. Perhaps, but I also think a new simulation showing what that event would be like is helpful in preparation.
It was a YouTube channel called "Earthquake Sim" that showed a somewhat real time 7.7 magnitude earthquake along the New Madrid Seismic Zone in Missouri would look like.

In case you didn't know, New Madrid, Missouri is now a movie star (sort of) as Tobi just shared their own disaster movie featuring this seismically-active Missouri place called "Continental Split".
Could a 7.7 magnitude quake really happen in Missouri?
St. Charles County, Missouri emergency managers say that the USGS estimates there's up to a 10% chance it will happen in the next 50 years. That's actually a fairly high percentage chance that Missouri will one day have the worst natural disaster ever.
