Strange ‘Mothman’ Sighting Reported Near Missouri Air Base
There's a new eyewitness testimony that is almost guaranteed to make the hair on your arms stand up. A Missouri man claims he and his girlfriend were chased by a 'Mothman-like' creature not far from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri.
Are you familiar with the legend of the Mothman?
The 'Mothman' gained fame in 1966 when a winged creature with glowing red eyes was spotted near Point Pleasant, West Virginia numerous times just prior to a tragic bridge collapse that claimed dozens of lives. Now, there's a sighting of a similar type of creature from a man named Derek in Missouri who recently was interviewed by Sasquatch Theory. He lives in the area near Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri and told the following story about what he and his girlfriend witnessed one night. He said the encounter began when they heard what almost sounded like what you might imagine pterodactyl dinosaur bird to sound like:
Derek - "We kept hearing that noise...we walked out to the very back of the yard to the fence line. There's a row of oak trees...something jumped out of the tree and flew off and it shook the whole tree...my girlfriend...all she said was "did you see the claws?". I said...yeah...it kind of looked like Batman flew out of the tree".
He went on to say that the creature had huge wings like a bat measuring over 6 foot in length. Both he and his girlfriend were very shaken by the experience not fully understanding what could have been that size in the tree. While I recommend listening to all of Derek's stories, the specific tale about a possible 'Mothman' starts around the 28 minute mark.
What's interesting is that most sightings of a 'Mothman' have been associated with areas about to experience a disaster. If that's really what Derek witnessed, what could this mean for his area of Missouri? It's another wild story from the woods of Missouri that are hard to explain.
