Lifestyles of the rich and famous. I don't live that kind of life, but some in Missouri do. Do you dare enter the domain of Missouri's snobbiest cities? Chances are you'll have to get through security first and I'm not actually kidding.

I say Missouri's snobbiest cities (plural) because there's more than one. I think it was 8 years ago that one area in the St. Louis area was declared the snobbiest city in Missouri and I think that still applies. But, there is a newer ranking that shows that snobby crown may have changed. Let's explore the possibilities.

So where is the snobbiest city in Missouri, your highness?

It depends on who you ask. Back in 2015, Homesnacks named Ladue as the snobbiest city in Missouri. They used these metrics to make their pick:

  • Median home price (Higher is snobbier)
  • Median household income (Higher is snobbier)
  • Percent of population with a college degree (Higher is snobbier)
  • Private schools per capita (Higher is snobbier)
  • Theaters per capita (Higher is snobbier)
  • Art galleries per capita (Higher is snobbier)

By that measure, sure sounds like Ladue deserves the crown.

But wait, there's more

More recently, Movoto ranked the snobbiest cities in America and a new Missouri metro made the list. Brace yourself, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, it is Kansas City. How dare they? That doesn't sound quite right. Of all the people I've seen and met over the years that tailgated at Chiefs games, none was snobby. I demand a recount.

So, the takeaway is this. Take your pick. Wanna put the snobby label on a Missouri city? You can choose Ladue or KC because in America we're free to do what we want.
