You have to be careful when you explore caves in Missouri. Someone or something might have found that cave before you and still be inside. That's what happened to a family recently and the sound they heard coming from deep inside a cave was...interesting.

The Buffalo Wilderness Homestead YouTube channel ended up on my radar as I was looking for the latest video shares having to do with Missouri and there's came up with the tag "Ozark Mountains". They were investigating nearby waterfalls and caves and it's the third one that had an interesting sound coming from within. Make sure your sound is turned up for this one.

So do I understand correctly they found baby turkey vultures making a home inside? I don't enjoy dealing with turkey vultures when they're up in the sky and I'm doubting they're much more fun when in a cave either.

When you think about it, not really that surprising if these really are turkey vultures making a home in a Missouri cave. Great shelter from other predators (unless a bear finds the cave) and also weather. Say what you want about turkey vultures in Missouri, but they're not dumb birds and know a good shelter when they find one.
