Illinois Business That Axed 365 Jobs Cuts More Staff

It's been a vicious year for employees in Illinois and another round of layoffs appear to be incoming for a company that laid off 365 in 4 different Illinois locations earlier this year.

As I was checking the Illinois Work Net Center site, I saw a company that just issued a WARN notice to the state about imminent layoffs that looked familiar. After checking my records, I confirmed that this was the same business that let go 365 workers in Illinois back at the start of February. According to this new document submitted to the state of Illinois, another 27 workers will be jobless starting August 28, 2025.

The address given is for Villa Franciscan Place in Joliet. The details in the WARN notice show TouchPoint Support Services, LLC at Prime Health Villa Franciscan Place which leads me to believe this is a service that was perhaps contracted to Villa Franciscan Place?

Here are the locations where they laid off workers earlier this year:

• Compass Group - 333 N. Madison St. Joliet, IL 60435 - 144 laid off
• Compass Group - 7435 W. Talcott Ave. Chicago, IL 60631 - 109 laid off
• Compass Group - 355 Ridge Ave. Evanston, IL 60202 - 76 laid off
• Compass Group - 77 Airlite St. Elgin, IL 60123 - 36 laid off

There is no confirmation at this time if the 27 workers are part of a temporary layoff or restructuring or if this is a permanent change.

This newest layoff report adds to the total of more than 1,700 that have lost their jobs in Illinois in just the past 30 days and more than 16,000 over the past year. Let's hope this company and the affected workers end up in a better situation soon.
