Cheetos, Skittles & 8 Other Snacks to Be Banned in Illinois Soon
It appears that many very popular snacks are about to go the way of the hula hoop. Certain types of Cheetos, Skittles and 8 other snacks are about to be banned in Illinois and I'm guessing you will be surprised at which ones are on that list because I was, too.
In case you haven't heard, the Food and Drug Administration has the ban hammer in hand and is about to use it to get rid of many food dyes currently used in many popular snacks. They made this announcement in a press release that is rocking the snacking industry. Here are the exact words of what they say they're banning:
"Initiating the process to revoke authorization for two synthetic food colorings—Citrus Red No. 2 and Orange B—within the coming months."
It doesn't stop there either. They said they are also mandating that snacks which have "FD&C Green No. 3, FD&C Red No. 40, FD&C Yellow No. 5, FD&C Yellow No. 6, FD&C Blue No. 1, and FD&C Blue No. 2" are removed from store shelves.
According to Cheapism, here are 10 very popular snacks you will not be able to get in Illinois starting in 2026.
