CMT Crossroads has announced another superstar pairing in Zac Brown Band and pop star Shawn Mendes for the next installment of the series.

The beloved country group will expand their comfort zone by taking on Mendes' pop tracks. Mendes, a 20-year-old Canadian singer, has topped charts with hits like "Treat You Better," "There's Nothing Holding Me Back" and "In My Blood," as well as three consecutive No. 1 albums since his debut in 2015. Mendes was also named to Time's prestigious 100 Most Influential People list in 2018.

These Country Crossovers Were, Well, Forgettable

Zac Brown Band, of course, have gained acclaim for their own string of hits, like "Chicken Fried," "Toes," "Free" and "Homegrown" as just a sample of their revered chart-toppers. The eight-piece band has earned three Grammy Awards, in addition to multiple ACM, CMA and CMT Awards. They're currently working on new music in the middle of their 2018 Down the Rabbit Hole Tour.

Brown shared the news in a Twitter video, calling Mendes a "good friend."

"Shawn is an incredibly talented artist and it’s been exciting to watch his career rise over the past few years," he further shares in a press release. "We’ve had fun collaborating together, this Crossroads will be very special with huge vocals and musicality. It will be unexpected and something that both sets of fans will enjoy."

"I’m so excited to head to Nashville to play with Zac and the band on Crossroads. It’s going to be a blast," adds Mendes.

Brett Eldredge and Meghan Trainor were the last duo to take the CMT Crossroads stage. The ZBB/Shawn Mendes episode tapes soon and will air on Wednesday (Oct. 24) at 10PM ET.
