I'm not a big fan of bucket lists. First of all, just about every bucket I've ever used has had a leak in it. So, the visual image isn't a positive one for me in the first place.  Plus, people with bucket lists normally plan stuff years in advance.  In my case, I would probably get hit by an asteroid next Thursday if I were to come up with a 10-year "plan".

That being said, there is one thing you absolutely positively have to do once before you die.  Ride the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad which is headquartered in Durango, Colorado.  Radio has taken me to some beautiful places around this country, but none has topped the railroad in Durango yet.

I will warn you though.  Don't go on this railroad if you're an atheist.  Because, there is no way you're gonna ride this train and exit it not believing in God.  The scenery you will see is some of the greatest evidence of an almighty Creator that I have ever come across.

I rode this train for the first time back in 1985.  Since that time, I have convinced many family members to make the trip to Durango to ride this train.  Every single one of them has come away agreeing that it's the most beautiful country they've ever seen.

For details, they have a very cool website and they're also on Facebook.  Forget the buckets, but take this trip.  You'll be glad you did.
