I saw a few social media posts float around this weekend saying that Mark Wahlberg of "Marky Mark & The Funkybunch" fame (and literally nothing else ever after that), and Will Ferrell of A Night At The Roxbury fame (also literally nothing else ever after that) were in Quincy. What could bring these two formerly huge stars to the small town of Quincy? Are they trying to recapture their glory days, by going the small indie-route? Like when Bill Murray started teaming up with Wes Anderson, Sofia Coppola and Jim Jarmusch on everything?

Well, the posts were technically correct, which is the best kind of correct. It wasn't a full on hoax. They WERE in Quincy. But not our fair Gem City. They were in the City of Presidents, aka Quincy, Massachusetts. Which Google maps is now telling me is in Massachusetts. Considering Marcus Funkybunchberg hails from the greater Boston area (which is allegedly ALSO in Massachusetts, I have an intern attempting to confirm that for me), that makes WAY more sense than if they were to be here.

They're filming some scenes for the upcoming film Daddy's Home 2, the sequel to the little seen 2015 film Daddy's Home, which brought in a measly $150 million at the box office. Over its entire run! Pft... Guardians of the Galaxy 2 did that in a weekend! That's when you're a REAL movie.

But that's the sad, crushing, disappointing truth. Mark and Will were in the wrong Quincy. And they had Original Mad Max, Mr. Mel Gibson himself, with them! WE COULD HAVE HAD MAD MAX!

If Will Ferrell ever does show up in OUR Quincy, I'm pitching him my idea for a movie starring him, Colin Farrell and Pharrell Williams as a group of guys who get stranded in a forest. We'll call it Feral. If you're reading this, Will Ferrell, call me. Or have your people call my people. We'll get the ball rolling on that.
