On Monday, Camp Point Police Chief Steve Patterson resigned his position. Resignations do occur everyday in America. No big deal, right? Wrong! With his resignation, Camp Point officials want Patterson to relinquish his K-9 dog to the Camp Point Village Police Department.  According to the November 8th edition of the Herald Whig, Patterson says the dog is his “companion” and he should get to keep him.The article mentions that Patterson says the dog, named Poseidon, is a member of his family and he has even offered to purchase the dog from the Village but has not received a reply back.
