Spring has officially arrived, and I'm sure many families will be excited to hear that Six Flags St. Louis will be opening soon. Opening day for 2015 will be April 3, which means the park will be open Easter Weekend. There will be an Easter Egg hunt on Saturday, April 4 for kids 10 and under.

One of the highlights of the 2015 season at Six Flags will be the opening of the new ride Justice League: Battle for Metropolis, described as a "a 4D interactive dark ride experience."

As you explore the interactive Hall of Justice, you’ll be given special 4D glasses and a working stun gun to help you battle Lex Luthor and The Joker. They’ve hacked into BATMAN’s computer and kidnapped the world’s favorite superheroes, SUPERMAN, BATMAN, WONDER WOMAN, and GREEN LANTERN. Now you must bust into Lex Corp. to rescue them!" - Six Flags

The comic book fan in me can't wait. It looks like I'll be looking for an excuse to take my niece to Six Flags. Six Flags says the ride will open in "late spring."

Six Flags' Roller Coaster Race will also return to the park in 2015. This is a 5K/10K race at Six Flags. For those that aren't quite conditioned for a 5K, there will also be a Roller Coaster Event going on simultaneously, where the park will track participants' roller coaster riding as they attempt to ride a total distance equal to a 5K. That's probably harder than it sounds. The Roller Coaster Race is May 3.

The Six Flags website also mentions "concerts" coming in 2015, but I couldn't find a full lineup. Sometimes theme parks end up booking some very good acts, so we'll have to keep an eye out for future notices. One concert announcement that has been made is for a show for Christian rock fans. Praise-a-Palooza will take place at the park on Saturday, July 25.

We were unable to make it to Six Flags last year, so I'll be looking forward to visiting (maybe even a couple times) in 2015.
