Looks like one of Quincy's most popular restaurants is moving to a bigger site!

Yesterday, when driving down Broadway, I noticed some construction work being done in the parking lot of the 36th and Broadway plaza in front of Hobby Lobby.

Looks like Quincy's Panera Bread restaurant is moving to its own building across the parking lot! According to an article at WGEM.com, the new Panera location will be bigger and include a drive-thru. The article states that the larger facility is expected to be open on December 12.

We'll update as more information is made available.

I don't know about you, but I think this is GREAT news! The current site is consistently busy and it has always seemed a little too small. A bigger and more visible location will be much more relaxing and comfortable for customers.

And the move will leave a big space in that plaza that will need to be filled. Perhaps a new restaurant will make its way to Quincy?
