The story of the murder of Hannibal resident Sandra Fugate comes to national television Saturday night at 8 p.m. on Investigation Discovery channel's series "Happily Never After."

Fugate was murdered by her fiance, Calvin Duane Pettey, on April 15, 2010, in her home at 3611 Iowa Ave. Pettey was convicted of first degree murder in June, 2012, and was later sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Rebecca Jeanne Kirk, of Frankford, who was having an affair with Pettey at the time of Fugate’s murder, has been charged with two felony counts of tampering with evidence in the case. Kirk’s trial date has yet to be determined.

Fugate was murdered just two days before she was to be married to Pettey. ‘Happily Never After’ is narrated by Emmy Award-winning actress Marlo Thomas.

If you miss the Saturday night premiere episode, the program will re-air Saturday night at 11 p.m. and Sunday morning at 3 a.m. and 11 a.m.
