In the midst of the tax preparation season,  there is an opportunity in northeast Missouri for you to get your taxes done for free.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free simple income tax preparation services to eligible residents. The VITA program is the result of the collaboration of the United Way of the Mark Twain Area, the University of Missouri Cooperative Extension Service and the IRS.

If you'd like to get your taxes done through VITA, you can make an appointment by calling Douglass Community Services at 573-221-3892, Extension 247.
