Upcoming August Concerts You Don’t Want to Miss
August will be one of the busiest months for live country music we've seen in a while. Some of the top acts will be appearing as part of the Country Megaticket in August, the state fairs will be taking place, and some of the county fair concerts will be held at the beginning of the month. Here are some of the upcoming August concerts you won't want to miss.
Eric Paslay and Craig Wayne Boyd
The month will begin with one of our biggest local concert events of the year. This year's concert night at the Adams County Fair is Saturday, August 1. Craig Wayne Boyd from The Voice and country newcomer Eric Paslay will both perform. Fairgoers will get free grandstand seating with their general admission tickets. Those that would like track seats can purchase them for an extra $10. Track tickets can be purchased at Quincy's Farm & Home Supply store. Craig Wayne Boyd starts at 7:30, and Eric Paslay's performance will begin at 9.
Swon Brothers
The Pike County Fair in Bowling Green will have live music all afternoon and into the night on Saturday, August 1. Concerts will begin at 5:45 when Pike 41 takes the stage. Brothers Roberson will play at 6:45, then The Cadillac Three will start at 8. This year's headliners are The Swon Brothers. Their concert will start at 9:30. General admission tickets to the fair are all-inclusive. No reserve seats are sold for the concerts.
Dan+Shay
Country duo Dan + Shay have been finding success over the past couple years, charting Top 40 hits like "Show You Off" and "Nothing Like You." Their debut hit, "19 You and Me" went Top 10. They'll be playing at Boondocks in Springfield, Illinois on Saturday, August 1. Tickets are $20 in advance. Anyone under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Shania Twain
Shania Twain's farewell Rock This Country Tour will come through St. Louis on August 4. Tickets are on sale now for her 7:30 show at the Scottrade Center. Prices range from $43 - $133.
Tim McGraw
The first country superstar to appear in St. Louis as part of the Country Megaticket in August will be Tim McGraw. Billy Currington and Chase Bryant will open. The concert will be at Hollywood Casino Amphitheater on Sunday, August 9. Tickets are $32.50 - $73.50.
Illinois State Fair
Several country artists will be in Springfield for this year's Illinois State Fair. Justin Moore, Josh Thompson and Jon Pardi will perform August 16. August 18, Rascal Flatts, Scotty McCreery and Raelynn will be at the fair. Hank Williams Jr. will perform on August 21, and Brantley Gilbert, Colt Ford and Michael Ray will close the fair on Sunday, August 23.
Missouri State Fair
The Missouri State Fair will bring a number of country stars to their grandstand in 2015. Justin Moore and Easton Corbin, John Michael Montgomery, Gary Allan, the Swon Brothers and Alabama are among the stars that will play in Sedalia. Dates for this year’s Missouri State Fair are August 13-23 at the Missouri State Fairgrounds.
Iowa State Fair
Country stars coming to the 2015 Iowa State Fair include Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, Alabama and Justin Moore. The Iowa State Fair will be August 13 – 23 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.
Jason Aldean
August 22 is the date for Jason Aldean's Country Megaticket concert. Cole Swindell and Tyler Farr are opening. Ticket prices are $30.75 - $70.75.
Jana Kramer
The Blue Note in Columbia will be hosting Jana Kramer for a concert on August 27. Tickets in advance are $17.50. They will be $20 the day of the show. Doors open at 7:30 for an 8:30 show. Kramer had a Top 5 hit, "Why You Wanna," in 2012. She is also an actress, most famous for her role as Alex Dupre on One Tree Hill.
Brad Paisley
Brad Paisley, Justin Moore and Mickey Guyton will be at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater on August 30. Tickets for this Country Megaticket show are $30.25 - $60.
