It’s hard to keep tough-as-nails Toby Keith down for more than a few days. The proof is in his bounce-back rate. This week, the ‘I Like Girls That Drink Beer’ hitmaker will undergo a minor outpatient procedure to have his gallbladder removed. And by Friday (August 3), he’ll resume his Live in Overdrive Tour in Detroit Lakes, Minn. If that’s not tough, then we don’t know what is!

According to Got Country, radio specialists Albright and O’Malley have reported that Keith “has been in significant pain for sometime [sic] now and decided to have the Gallbladder removed.” We’re not sure what being in pain ‘some time now’ means, but it sounds like the award-winning country star has been playing through the pain recently.

Fortunately for fans of the tell-it-like-it-is crooner, Keith only had to postpone one date on his summer tour due to the irritation. He was slated to play a gig in Sparta, Wisc. on Thursday (August 2), but he has pushed back the performance until August 30 to give himself a needed day off. He will be back on his feet by Friday’s concert, however.

This summer has apparently been a rough one for country stars, as Miranda Lambert, LeAnn Rimes and Keith have all fallen ill and had to cancel shows in recent weeks. Fortunately, Lambert is on the mend after canceling several dates in order to rest her precious vocal cords, and Rimes will be back on the road when she recovers from an eight-hour surgery she went through on Monday to repair a half-deteriorated tooth root.

We’re not sure what’s in the water that’s keeping everyone down, but we’re pleased to see them all get right back up again.
