Tickets for Quincy Community Theatre's holiday production of 'A Christmas Carol' will go on sale on Monday, November 17.

Tickets to 'A Christmas Carol' are $20, and will be available online. Performances are set for December 4 - 7, and December 11 - 14.

Quincy Community Theatre says that this particular adaptation of Charles Dickens' story has never before been performed in the Tri-States. QCT Artistic Director Brandon Thomsen says that they are trying to create "a murky, ghostly and mysterious London atmosphere" for the musical.

“We wanted to tell the story as it was originally conceived: as a ghost story,” said Thomsen. “In addition to recreating the essence of impoverished Industrial-era London, we’re adding a layer of mystery to the story by adding shadows and keeping the set pieces slightly askew, thereby creating a world that spirits may haunt. The appearance of each ghost will be a visual surprise for the audience.”

Tickets to 'A Christmas Carol' can be purchased online, or at the QCT Box Office, located in the Oakley-Lindsay Center. For more information, call (217) 222-3209.

Adapted from Dickens’ original story by Philip Wm. McKinley and Suzanne Buhrer, this cherished tale has been reimagined as a gorgeous musical narrated by Dickens himself. Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly and miserable man, greets each Christmas with a 'bah humbug.' That is, until he is visited one Christmas Eve by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. In one extraordinary night, the spirits take Scrooge on a musical, life-changing journey through memories from his past, the reality of his present, and the grim future should he continue his greedy ways." - Quincy Community Theatre
