The Cannibal is Coming!

The Hannibal Cannibal is coming!  And, no this is not a hint that it's time for you to rent "Silence of the Lambs" again.  Although, if you're a runner/walker, the Hannibal Cannibal may be the race equivalent of a serial killer (and we mean that in a good way).

Truth is the actual Hannibal Cannibal event is one of the great "goods" in our area.  The Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation folks have sponsored this event for years helping a number of local causes.  This year, the race benefits the "Heart to Heart" Campaign to help create a digital cardiac network to assist specialist's in reading EKG's within seconds.

If you're not familiar with the race itself, the route is the "Cannibal".  The course includes the super-intimidating Lover's Leap in it's path...but the real runners will tell you the most painful part of the journey is the long slow rise in elevation along the way.  The video below will give you a pretty good idea of what you're up against if you tackle the 10K.
