Tanya is one of the few female country artists to be considered a part of the "outlaw" movement in the 1970's. She burst onto the scene in 1973 at the age of 13, with "Delta Dawn." Tanya followed with mega hits like "What's Your Mama's Name," "Would You Lay With Me (In A Field Of Stone)," "San Antonio Stroll," "Texas (When I Die)," "Here's Some Love," "Blood Red And Goin' Down," The Man That Turned My Mama On," "I Believe The South Is Gonna Rise Again," and "Don't Believe My Heart Can Stand Another You," all before the 70's were over.

The 80's and 90's saw Tanya continue being a force in country music with hits like "Pecos Promenade," I Won't Take Less Than Your Love" (a duet with Paul Overstreet), "Strong Enough To Bend," and Two Sparrows In A Hurricane." All told, Tanya has had 66 singles and scored 15 #1 country hits.
