Quinsippi Island

It's amazing what you can find when you do a little digging in the state archives. This is a great example. It's an original ticket from the inaugural trip of Quincy's 'Little Q' train from 1966.

In an effort to "open up" the view of the river even more, the southern tip of Quinsippi Island underwent a transformation Saturday.

I have the perfect way to spend part an afternoon.....visit the Log Cabin Village on Quinsippi Island in Quincy.

Friends of the Log Cabins has scheduled a workday for 8 to noon for this Saturday in the Log Cabin Village on Quinsippi Island and they can use some help.

The Friends of the Log Cabins are seeking help to raise the funds, needed to restore the Lincoln-era Log Cabins on Quinsippi Island. They are looking for people to participate in the first annual “Walk for the Log Cabins."

As I sat eating my lunch today at Reservoir Park in Quincy and getting sauce from my sub sandwich on my shirt in 3 different places, I thought to myself... "self, we sure do have a lot of nice parks in this town."
