As we get closer to the total solar eclipse that will cross the southern parts of Missouri Monday afternoon, you need to make sure the eclipse glasses you have are safe. There are stern warnings about fakes that could leave you and/or your family blind.

I've lived in Missouri most of my life, but for some reason that I can't remember, I wasn't living in the state 30 years ago when a rare solar eclipse reached totality directly over Missouri. I've collected some memories of that day.

Yeah, I know. I saw the warnings about photographing the eclipse and how improperly shooting it could damage your camera. And I still managed to screw it up.
