The City of Quincy is considering privatizing the collection of garbage and recycling instead of using the sticker program it has used for years. With that in mind, the City is going to hold two public hearings on the issue.  The first hearing will be tonight from 6:30 to 7:30 at St. Peter's Church basement at 2600 Maine Street in Quincy.

The idea is to have nothing but red lights on the wreath which would mean a fire free Christmas season for homes in the city. Beginning this week and for the next six weeks Diamond Construction Company will begin to mill and resurface thirteen different areas of the City of Quincy.  All of the projects are weather permitting with the streets resurfaced being a part of the Asphalt Maintenance Program of the City of Quincy. The streets to be resurfaced are as follows:

The City Wide Clean Up date has been announced by the City of Quincy and has been scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.  City residents may take their items for disposal to the clean up site at Front and Delaware Streets during those hours.
