Television, in years past, always left the 7 p.m. central time slot open for family programming. Over the years that has gone away. Fortunately, the major networks continue to air some classic holiday programs for families to view during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. One of the highlights of this past week came on Wednesday, when Quincy native Ryan Hutmacher became the next Weight Watchers Chef. Hutmacher, who is now a chef working in Chicago, beat out contestants from around the country in a five-week competition on the ABC television program 'The Chew.'
