Just over 20 runners are on their way from Hannibal to Peoria via Quincy for the annual St. Jude’s fund raising run.

The run started on North Main at 8:30 Friday morning. A brief stop at the James E. Cary Cancer Center at Hannibal Regional Hospital is planned to pick up a donation from The Children’s Center. From there it’s up US 61 to Quincy where another forty runners will join in for the run on to Peoria.

The Hannibal to Quincy to Peoria run is one of 37 satellite fund raising runs converging on Peoria by mid afternoon Saturday. Last year’s Hannibal/Quincy run raised $83,000. The runs combined to raise 4.1 million dollars in 2014. Each runner is required to raise at least 750 dollars.
