This is a day in which a lot is being written and said about the passing of Robin Williams. A while back, when James Garner died, we wrote a story on performers that had created multiple iconic roles during their careers. Robin Williams would certainly fall into that category.

In fact, when you consider the memorable roles played by Robin Williams in movies and television, where do you start?

It began with the alien Mork from Ork on Mork and Mindy. Then, in no particular order, there came the real life roles of DJ Adrian Cronauer in Good Morning, Vietnam and of Dr. Hunter "Patch" Adams. Williams won an Academy Award as Dr. Sean Maguire, the psychologist in Good Will Hunting. There was the inspirational English teacher John Keating in Dead Poet's Society.

There was Daniel Hillard, the father who wanted to be closer to his kids, so he took on the role of the proper English nanny Mrs. Doubtfire. In the Disney animated film Aladdin, Williams' voice brought life to the Genie in the classic tale.

And, let's not forget Peter Banning, the grown-up Peter Pan in Hook, Armand Goldman, the drag club owner in The Birdcage, and Teddy Roosevelt in A Night at the Museum.

The demons that Robin Williams fought through his career is another blog for another time. This piece is to look back and remember with gratitude and talented actor and manic performer who died too soon Monday.
