I spoke with Gabby McQueen, Volunteer Ambassador for Quincy Teen Reach on the radio, talking about the 2nd Annual Young Arts and Crafts Show. The show is Saturday November 19 11a-3p at the Quality Inn & Suites in Quincy.

Many of the items you can find at the Arts & Crafts show include Vinyl Art, Photography, Crochet items, Drawings, Home Decorations, Paintings, Scarves, Glass Art, Digital Art, Face painting, and so much more.

The items being sold are a part of the fundraiser for Quincy Teen Reach. There will also be food for sale, provided by Drake's Steak & Ale. The fundraisers were necessary due to the State of Illinois budget impasse. At one point, according to Ms. McQueen, the Quincy Teen Reach staff had worked for several weeks without pay. The Young Arts and Craft show last year was able to raise over $3500.

Quincy Teen Reach helps at-risk children in grades 2 through 12. They offer help with homework, tutoring, career goals and employment, safe transportation to and from school, and so much more. You can get more information and make a donation at their Web sites: www.quincyteenreach.com and www.youngartsshow.com.
