These are the final days for Sears at the Quincy Mall.

Sears will be closing its doors officially on Sunday, August 12, and there is not much left in the store. It looks very bare and empty for a store that has been in the Quincy area for over 70 years.

As far as what's next for the building, no one is really sure. For now it will just sit and wait for its next occupant. For a few more days though, it is all about Sears. Most items are 30 - 70 percent off, but there's not much left.

It's really sad to see a store that has been in the area for so long go empty, but it could become a great home for a new retailer soon. If you're out and about this week, just stop in the Sears for a last minute walk through. You never know you might find (and it will be cheap).

I remember when I first graduated college I worked at Sears, and it was busy and full of life the few months I was there. I meet some great friends, customers, and managers that I still stay in contact with to this day. So I am grateful for my time working there, but I do look forward too seeing what the building will become.
