When you watch the horrific damage being caused by Hurricane Isaac on the Gulf Coast, know that we have local heroes that are lending a helping hand with providing relief.  The Adams County Chapter of the American Red Cross sent their emergency response vehicle to the Montgomery, Alabama area a couple days ago.

"Our hearts go out to the people in the path of Isaac," said Pam Shaffer, executive director of the Adams County Chapter.  "In the event that Isaac causes devastation along the gulf, these local volunteers will assist those affected by the storm".

ERV's (Emergency Response Vehicles) provide food, water and supplies on mobile routes.  If you would like to assist, you can call, click or text and donate by visiting the Red Cross website, by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or texting REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

We salute all the Red Cross volunteers and those who find it in their hearts to help the Red Cross with money and/or resources.
