Quincy Police Warn of Scam

The Quincy Police Department would like to inform citizens of a recent scam which is circulating in our area.  This scam is a variation of the “Mystery Shopper” scam. If you receive any type of correspondence asking you to participate, don’t do it!

Scammers send information and a fraudulent cashier’s check for $2,755 to be cashed.  You are asked to keep a small portion for your “salary” and then purchase Green Dot Money Pak cards.  You are instructed to send the PIN numbers to the scammers.  It takes a few days for the check to come back as fraudulent.
