One of the highlights of the summer is sure to be Quincy Community Theatre's production of 'Mary Poppins,' which local theater fans have been looking forward to since the 2015 season schedule was announced several months ago. After four days of auditions, QCT has selected 41 local actors and singers to appear in their summer musical.

“Casting this show was an immense challenge,” said Artistic Director Brandon Thomsen. “We were overwhelmed with talented singers, actors, and dancers of all ages at our four-day auditions. We are thrilled with this cast and feel confident that we will truly impress our Quincy audiences with the magic each cast member brings to the stage.”

According to Quincy Community Theater, the cast consists of: Kelsey Celek as the extraordinary governess “Mary Poppins;” Lance Smith as “Bert,” the story’s narrator and “jack of all trades;” Seanna Bounds and Mallory Johnston as “Jane Banks,” and Joey Engelmeyer and Vaughn Myers as “Michael Banks,” the high spirited, but misbehaved children of the Banks family; Karol Ehmen as “Winifred Banks,” the loving mother attempting to attain perfection; and James Riley as “George Banks,” the father who is trying to please society and in doing so, loses touch with his family.

Also joining the cast is Debra Brown as “Mrs. Brill,” Jerilyn Dufresne as “Bird Woman/Miss Andrew,” Dakotta Hagar as “Robertson Ay,” Kristen Houston as “Mrs. Corry/Katie Nanna,” Adam Jaworski as “Von Hussler,” Shawn Jones as “Neleus,” Kirsten Myers as “Northbrook,” Joe Osier as “Admiral Boom,” and Drew Quintero as “Valentine.”
