As we close the door on the worst year ever (and depending on who you talk to, the series finale of mankind as we know it), let’s take…say…two minutes and 37 seconds to reflect on who we’ve lost in the past 12 months.

No, I’m not talking about David Bowie, Prince, John Glenn, Florence Henderson, Leonard Cohen, Arnold Palmer, Glenn Frey, Jose Fernandez, Gene Wilder, Muhammad Ali, Merle Haggard, Gordie Howe, Alan Thicke, and Abe Vigoda (WHY, ABE VIGODA, WHY!!??).

I know! I was as shocked as you!!

I’m talking, of course, about the businesses that closed up shop right here in Quincy in the past year. Businesses that joined TGIFridays, JC Penney, Long John Silvers, and so many more in that big part time job fair in the sky. Some were unexpected (I'm looking at you, Talayna's!). Others, let’s just say, we saw it coming. Doesn’t make them any less tragic (mostly).
