Hannibal’s James E. Cary Cancer Center received a $3,000 check courtesy of Peters Heating and Air Conditioning at a special presentation on Friday morning.

The donation represents funds raised from the fourth year of Peters’ “Pink Van Campaign” which has raised over $13,000 for local hospitals and foundations since its inception.

The premise of the campaign is that Peters Heating and Air Conditioning customers may request “the Pink Van” and a portion of the sale will be donated to the local community.

“With the van in Hannibal, the money we raise gets divided at the local cancer center for the treatment and research of every form of cancer,” Lucas Peters says. The Quincy van is teamed up with the Blessing Breast Center.

“People come up to us all the time, excited to see the van, and know the symbolism of it,” Peters says. “We are trying in every way we can to raise awareness, raise funds, get people in our hometown the treatment they need and deserve.”

This fall, Peters will be hosting giveaways and attending events as well as organizing a “spot the pink van” contest. For more information, or to schedule your Pink Van service, visit petersheatingandair.com or find them on Facebook.
