Palmyra Graduation – The Tradition Continues

Commencement exercises are tonight at the football field in Palmyra. As of 10:00 this morning, the tradition of saving seats had already begun.

I had never seen this behavior before. People arrive to an event hours ahead of time (like graduation, demolition derby, tractor pull, etc.), bring blankets, sheets, and duck tape, and proceed to mark their territory.

I have learned that there is an art to this: folding the sheet just so, then wrapping the duck tape around the seat so the sheet doesn't blow (or get scooted).
