Since the dawn of time (or about 50 years ago, depending what calendar you use) the Tan-Tar-A Resort in Lake of the Ozarks has been a popular destination for folks around the region, entertaining guests and conference goers. But like lots of good things, this must come to an end. Kind of.

As the senior Jimmy Buffettologist around the KICK studios, I was particularly intrigued when my 18 different Google alerts for all things Jimmy Buffett related dinged this morning as news broke that his Margaritaville Resorts had purchased the property. Normally, the resorts stay local, with the exception of Pigeon Forge, TN in the Great Smokey Mountains. But now the beach loving pirate seems keen on changing latitudes, and possibly changing attitudes, as he heads further inland to the Lake of the Ozarks.

There's still no word if this will affect the upcoming gritty crime drama Ozark, starring Jason Bateman (premiering on Netflix next Friday, July 21), but I could totally see it taking a more upbeat, laid-back approach to its second season.

All I know, is that I've found my new vacation destination that isn't too far away.
